# Quick Convert

Using Quick Convert is a three-step process:

1. Select the DWG file you want to convert. You can select an imported or linked file.
 1. ![](/files/n0cU9RJfzy7FiBpwQiZr)
2. Select the Revit Line Type and Line Style you want to convert the DWG lines to. You can convert the lines as detail lines, model lines, area boundaries, room separation lines and space separation lines.
 1. ![](/files/OMrsV3xuWVAu9b3eHzBt)
3. Click the OK button to convert the DWG.

NOTE: Quick Convert does not convert DWG text to Revit text. The Revit API cannot read DWG text. You will need to add your text and dimensions manually in Revit.

Similarly, Quick Convert converts leaders and dimension strings but not the text associated with those elements. Hatch patterns in the DWG file will be converted to Revit lines, not fill patterns.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://archsmarter.gitbook.io/launchpad-docs/quick-convert.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
